Hobart is a notable city which can be found on the southern side of Australia, on the southwestern edge of the island of Tasmania. Considered part of Australia, Tasmania is an appealing spot and offers many interesting locations, towns and villages, of which Hobart is amongst the most popular, being Tasmania's capital city.

Standing in the heart of Hobart, the Central Business District (CBD) is an important part of the city. Other notable buildings and landmarks in Hobart city centre include Franklin Square and the Town Hall, together with a number of shopping centres, which can be found along both the Main Road and Elizabeth Street. The centre of Hobart is also home to Brooke Street Pier and Constitution Dock, two particularly vibrant parts of the city. Close to central Hobart, Salamanca Square offers a good selection of affordable accommodation and is well-placed for exploration of the region.

On the northern edge of the city you will find The Queen's Domain and the scenic Derwent Valley, which is known for its large vineyards and wineries. To the south of Hobart, Mount Wellington dominates much of the area and offers an impressive backdrop to much of the city.
